BMI is a general screening estimate, not a medical diagnosis. Consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
How It Works
BMI relates your weight to the square of your height. It's a simple population-level screening figure, not a diagnostic measurement — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, age, sex or body composition.
Formula
BMI = Weight (kg) ÷ Height (m)²
Example
A person weighing 70 kg at a height of 175 cm has a BMI of about 22.9, in the "Normal weight" range.
